JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a dynamic National Account Manager to drive sales growth and strengthen Taymor's market position within the Canadian retail sector. This critical role focuses on managing and expanding strategic relationships with major national building supply retailers, such as Home Depot, Rona, and Home Hardware. The successful candidate will work closely with our Director of Sales, Eastern Sales Manager, and sales team to execute sales plans that align with our corporate strategy, aiming to increase sales, gross margins, and market share.

 

The primary focus will be on increasing sales and gross margins through these large retailers. Additionally, the National Account Manager will implement the company’s omnichannel strategy to support the growth of both existing and new products entering the market. This requires close collaboration with the sales team, product management, and marketing to develop and maintain programs and planograms tailored to large national building supply big box retailers, contractor-focused, and DIY-focused lumberyards. These planograms are designed to drive sales and align with category strategies for sustained growth and increased market share.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Relationship Management: Develop and nurture high-level relationships with key national retailers. Lead strategic account planning and negotiations, ensuring our products are well-positioned to drive sales growth.

 

Sales Execution: Oversee the creation and implementation of sales strategies, product line reviews, and promotional activities. Work collaboratively with sales, product management, and marketing teams to optimize retail programs and planograms.

 

Team Leadership: Manage and coach a small team, ensuring effective prioritization and timely completion of sales activities. Support the team in achieving sales targets and driving the success of new product launches.

 

Market Engagement: Represent Taymor at trade shows and industry events, building our presence in the DIY and contractor-focused lumberyard markets.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5-7 years of experience in the DIY or contractor-focused sales industry, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • 3-5 Years of Retail Omni channel experience
  • Proven expertise in retail omnichannel strategies and strategic relationship building.
  • Strong negotiation skills and a deep understanding of product management and retail programs.
  • Located in GTA or Montreal area. Willingness to travel (40%) to engage with customers and support the team.
  • Spoken and written French an asset
