This paid internship offers $20 per hour and flexible scheduling between 20 – 37.5 hours per week, with work taking place during regular business hours Monday through Friday. It is offered for the winter semester, beginning in January.
To be eligible, you must be actively enrolled in a post-secondary program that includes an internship or co-op component as part of its academic requirements. Applicants will be asked to provide any necessary documentation to confirm their eligibility and may also be required to answer questions related to government grant programs as part of the application process and placement.
POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Training and Development Intern to join our team. This role offers the chance to dive into product management, marketing, and training and development, providing a comprehensive understanding of these critical areas.
In this dynamic role, you'll compile essential information, develop innovative training modules, and discover creative ways to connect with employees through engaging training sessions. You'll play a pivotal role in enhancing organizational processes and providing invaluable support to our product management and marketing departments. By participating in team meetings, coordinating projects across multiple departments, and gathering product information and feedback, you'll continuously improve our training modules and make a lasting impact.
This internship isn't just about gaining experience—it's about making a difference. You'll work with key industry platforms like Canva, Confluence, and HubSpot, and interact with our leadership team, presenting your plans, progress, and results. Essential (principal) tasks and responsibilities
- Research and curate relevant content from the Product Management to create training modules.
- Design interactive and multimedia elements to enhance the learning experience.
- Develop processes to build and help deliver content to key internal stakeholders across Canada and the US.
- Support the team in planning and executing training schedules across the organization.
- Coordinate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to obtain feedback for further enhancements to training modules.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on training participants and outcomes.
- Maintain organized records of training materials and participation progress.
- Prepare and distribute training-related communications and materials.
- Gain an overview understanding of Product Management, Sales, and Marketing.
- Present the training and development plans, conduct a mid-point review, and deliver an end-of-semester wrap-up as integral components of the internship experience, offering valuable opportunities for growth and development.
- Participate in team-related meetings.
Other tasks and responsibilities
- Conduct research on best practices in training and development.
- Provide administrative support for other product management projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Experience
- Pursuing a degree in Business, HR, Education, Marketing, or a related field.
Knowledge Required
- Understanding of business principles and practices, gained through pursuing a degree in Business, HR, Education, Marketing, or a related field.
- Experience in project management principles, acquired through coursework or involvement in school projects.
Technical & Professional Abilities
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey ideas and information.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, ensuring seamless documentation and communication within the team.
- Basic graphic design skills are advantageous for creating visually appealing training materials.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and ensure smooth project coordination.
- Creative and innovative mindset to explore new ideas and approaches in training and development.
- Strong problem-solving skills to address challenges and optimize training processes.
- Eagerness to learn and take on new challenges, demonstrating a proactive attitude towards personal and professional development.
