About the Opportunity
Taymor is seeking a skilled Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Delta, BC. In this role, you’ll contribute to financial accuracy and integrity through the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting that support both our Canadian and U.S. operations.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday position (37.5 hours/week), following a hybrid work schedule: 3 days per week at our Delta, BC office (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), with the flexibility to work in-office more frequently if preferred. Our schedule aligns with our telecommuting policy and may evolve based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities for both USA and CDN companies:
- Review and process complex accounts payable transactions
- Prepares journal entries
- Prepare reconciliations for bank and intercompany accounts, monitoring unusual bank activity and resolving anomalies
- Perform other general ledger reconciliations as necessary
- Maintain prepaid and capital assets schedules and associated amortization entries
- Assist with preparation of month end accruals and adjusting entries
- Ensure all journal entries are uploaded to accounting system
- Assist with monthly and quarterly reporting packages
- Assist with period end and year-end close, and working paper preparation and year-end audit
- Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures
- Review and process employee expense claims to ensure adherence to company policy and appropriate coding
- Provide back-up coverage and support for other accounting associate (traffic and accounts payable)
About You
To thrive in this role, you bring a strong foundation in accounting and a keen eye for accuracy. You have:
- A post-secondary education in accounting or a related field
- 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- A solid grasp of debits and credits and how they flow through financial systems
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills including VLOOKUP, pivot tables, conditional formatting
- Excellent time management and communication abilities
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Sage X3, JD Edwards, SAP) is a strong asset
- You are adaptable, meticulous, and able to pivot between tasks in a fast-paced environment, always ensuring the integrity of financial information and processes.
