About the Opportunity

The Business Development Manager is responsible for growing Taymor’s pull-through sales interaction and sales of our strategic products (mid-elevated locks and wall mounted bath) in the single-family residential builder market and increasing our distributor wallet share.  This is achieved by cultivating and building strong relationships with targeted single-family builders and their ecosystem of influencers, which includes their preferred network of local product distributors, as well as builder design center sales staff, located in key strategic metropolitan growth markets. The Business Development Manager is also responsible for cultivating relationships and managing a customer base of independent single-family residential distributor accounts and owning all the ecosystem relationships supporting Taymor’s Heroic Sales Management Process (HSMP).  The Business Development Manager will support Taymor’s Independent Sales Representation firms strategically located around the country. 

More specifically, some of your day-to-day responsibilities include:

New Home Builder Account Sales and Support – Direct Sales (40%)

  • Identify and qualify single-family builder prospects aligned with our customer profile.
  • Build consultative relationships with builders and their preferred distributors.
  • Secure design/option specifications and drive product sales through new product launches.
  • Maintain CRM records, track wins/losses, and gather competitor intelligence.
  • Align builder production schedules with product orders to ensure timely delivery.

 Coordination and Support of Independent Sales Representative Agencies (40%)

  • Strategically coordinate with independent rep firms to meet regional sales goals.
  • Conduct joint sales calls to present Taymor’s value proposition.
  • Support reps in managing builder-distributor relationships.
  • Maintain engagement with rep firms through regular reviews, product previews, and field visits.

Delivery and Support (20%)

  • Launch new product placements and execute distribution plans.
  • Perform site visits, product inspections, and deliver samples to builders and design centers.
  • Represent Taymor at industry trade shows, homebuilder associations, and distributor events.

 

About You

To qualify, you will need 5 years of experience in a direct Business-to-Business (B2B) sales role, with proven track record in major account selling and be located in one of our target areas of Denver, Dallas, Phoenix, Salt Lake City or Virginia with the willingness and capability of travelling up to 70% for national coverage (air and ground).

We are looking for individuals who follow effective sales strategies that are both persuasive and emphatic, by actively listening to the customers to assess the situation quickly. You are effortless in gaining insights on pain points that you can present solutions to.

In addition, you must have a strong knowledge and experience in:

  • Experience using CRM systems required
  • Thirst for knowledge relevant to emerging trends, products and services
  • Ability to understand and communicate design and mechanical attributes of products and technical aspects within the industry
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong computer knowledge and command using MS Office Suite
  • Results oriented
  • Solutions-oriented, curious, active listener who is empathetic and able to provide collaborative solutions
  • A positive, can-do attitude that exhibits passion and optimism, a strong work ethic and integrity are essential
  • Team oriented approach and use of effective collaboration, as well as a strong sense of personal accountability are required for success in this role

Experience in the interior design industry will be considered an asset, but not required. Sales experts with builder pull-through and specification, door, hardware, or plumbing wholesale channels are encouraged to apply!
