On-Call Warehouse Associate

  • Longterm on-call / casual position (no guaranteed hours)
  • Working hours will fall between Monday and Friday, between the hours of 6am and 3:30pm, but specific start and end times are agreed upon with the manager - offering flexibility to meet other obligations you may have 
  • Location: Annacis Island in Delta, BC
  • $20-$21/hr

About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, the Warehouse Associate is primarily responsible for ensuring that all orders are sorted and packed properly and efficiently with the right quantities of saleable product to meet customer order requirements The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the manual manipulation of items to prepare for shipping, including counting, packing, labeling and weighing, as well as ensuring the accurate, efficient performing of any task assigned to them relating to customers’ order expectations 

 

Essential (principal) tasks and responsibilities 

  • Sort and count items from the picker Pack items in a neat manner that protects the product, and presents it to the customer in an organized fashion. Stack products on pallets. 

  • Verify customer orders and enter information into a computerized freight price shopping system (Clippership) 

  • Handle various customer inquiries and provide customer service to customers picking up goods. 

  • Book customer delivery appointments as required. 

  • Schedule carrier pickups as required. 

  • Release customer orders as necessary (manually or in WMS system depending on location). 

  • Ensure ASN and MH10 requirements are entered timely and efficiently. 

  • Load, unload, stack and move products and materials by hand or using manual material handling equipment. 

  • Be aware of and take note of potential quality issues with items being manipulated and report to Team Lead Warehouse. 

  • Strictly follows safety policies and safe work methods. Promptly corrects or reports safety hazards or unsafe conditions. 

  • Ensures work area, is cleaned, free of debris and properly maintained 

 

Other tasks and responsibilities 

  • Provide aid building product displays when required. 

  • Move pallets with standup counterbalance forklift. 

  • Looks for and recommends process improvement or efficiencies in their work flow or area. 

  • General cleaning duties such as sweeping. 

  • Other general duties as may be assigned. 

 

About You

Due to the nature of the role, we are looking for candidates who are able to execute physical tasks such as lifting and bending in a warehouse environment. 

No need for experience or ability to work warehouse equipment.
